Phalen performed tunes off of his newest solo album Holy Ghost/Gold Coast throughout Eight Forty-Eight, though this time, he was joined by Chris Anderson on bass and guitar, and Shawn Rios on drums and bass. Host Tony Sarabia noted that Phalen had a sound similar to Nick Drake, a comparison the singer says he’s alright with — he’s a big fan of Drake’s.
