We know you have a job or school or a life outside of these Olympic games, but it doesn’t really feel like it right now, does it? So, like the winners we are, we’ve outlined a few events you should catch everyday in what we’re calling What to Watch in Your Cube/What to Watch on Your Couch (WTWIYC/WTWOYC). All times CDT and we’ve primarily focused on the USA because, well, where do we live?
In it for the long haul:
- The women’s 10k open-water swim starts at 6 am but will last a long while. But it takes place in Hyde Park, which should be scenic.
- Track and field, again, at 12:30 p.m. Am I the only one who finds running just dull? It appears so.
THE END:
- This is it: mens’ beach volleyball final at 3 p.m.
- At 11 a.m., per NBC’s website, “The two best teams in the world meet on Day 13, and it won’t be for a gold medal. A rematch of the last three gold-medal games happens in the semifinals as No. 1 United States takes on No. 2 Australia.”
- Women’s gold medal soccer at 1:45 p.m., obviously.
Save it for later when they can slow down all those moves and add graphics:
- Gold medal women’s diving, yadda yadda.
- Ooooo RHYTHMIC gymnastics starts (but at 6 a.m.). This is individual all-around hoop and ball, and then there’s a group event that has five balls? A must-watch, clearly.
- Team syncho swimming. Really at 9 a.m., but perhaps just wait to see all the bathing suits.
Really?:
- There is somehow more dressage starting at 6:30 a.m.
