10 Prospective UIC Students Ineligible To Enroll Due To Travel Ban

About half of the students admitted to an engineering P.h.D. program at the University of Illinois at Chicago will not be eligible to enroll because of President Trump’s new travel ban. The head of the Department of Civil Engineering at UIC said 10 of the roughly 20 students that were accepted for a P.h.D. at his department are from Iran. His department works on research projects for groups ranging from IDOT to the national department of Energy, and he said those projects will suffer for lack of students next year.
