In conjunction with the MCA exhibit This Will Have Been: Art Love and Politics in the 1980s, Tony Tasset discusses the artworks in “The End is Near,” which reflect on the discourses about the end of painting, the end of the 1960s counter culture, the end of humanism, and the end of history that took place during the decade.

Tony Tasset was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. He received his B.F.A. at the Art Academy of Cincinnati (1983) and his M.F.A. at The School of the Art Institute in Chicago (1985). He resides in Oak Park, and is currently a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
