El Ideas, Senza and Elizabeth were three of the 25 Chicago restaurants that debuted on the list of Michelin star awardees this year.

The Michelin 2014 guide designates the best restaurants around the world, and for Chicago, the ratings also confirm the trend that fine dining is decentralized away from downtown.

Starred restaurants are in the West Loop, Lincoln Park, and scattered throughout communities like Lincoln Square, Wicker Park, Bucktown, South Loop, and Lakeview.

Alinea chef Grant Achatz’ flagship in Lincoln Park was again the only Chicago restaurant to get Michelin’s coveted three-star rating.

Chef Curtis Duffy’s Grace, in West Loop, made a strong Michelin debut with two stars.
