#28 Announcing the world’s first (?) “Text Book”

I was speaking at a conference in D.C. last week and threw out this idea to the audience of teachers and librarians:

What if I were to give you my cell number, right here, right now? And then asked you to text me one piece of life advice.

And then I’d assemble it into a small but mighty “Text Book.”

Who’s game?

Hands went up and then I watched as several hundred people took down my cell number. Kind of a funny thing, I know, but even that act right there showed mutual trust and respect. They knew I wouldn’t give out their numbers to marketers or anyone for that matter, and I knew they would crank call me in the middle of the night. :)

Well, a week later, the Text Book is an official reality.  You can grab it here!

Just print it out, easy as that. But if you have any questions, we’re on stand by at missionamykr@vocalo.org

I hope everyone enjoys it. It sure was fun for me to get all these heartfelt text messages.

Thanks again, Shenandoah Children’s Literature Conference attendees, and program directors Karen and Linda!
