In collaboration with Science Chicago, the Goodman Theater presented a reading of Caryl Churchill’s A Number, in which three sons—two of whom are clones of the first—confront their father with the discovery of several genetically identical counterparts. The reading was followed by a discussion between Jeremy Manier, Senior Science reporter at the University of Chicago Medical Center and editor of the blog Science Life and Laurie Zoloth, Director of Bioehics, Science and Society at Northwestern.

A short overview of the performance that preceded this conversation is included at the beginning of this recording.

Recorded Monday, June 22, 2009 at Goodman Theatre.
