Make Literary Productions, Stop Smiling and the University of Chicago Press Present: A Party Celebrating the Release of Slow Trains Overhead: Chicago Stories and Poems by Reginald Gibbons. 

The event opens with Ramsin Canon’s multimedia presentation on “The Chicago Ward Primer: Celebrities, Scandals and Snacks,” followed by the reading. The reading begins 37 minutes into the event if you want to skip directly to it. 

Reginald Gibbons is a poet, fiction writer, translator, and essayist. At Northwestern University, he is professor of English and classics, director of the Center for the Writing Arts, and co-director of the MA/MFA Program in Creative Writing. His most recent poetry collection, Creatures of a Day, was a finalist for the 2008 National Book Award.
