After the Wars: Remembering a son lost in Afghanistan

In December of last year, Thomas and Anna Ware were forced to say a very painful goodbye to their son, Albert Ware. Albert immigrated to the United States from Liberia at age 10, when his father grew concerned about the conflict there. In 2004, Albert joined the Army National Guard, and joined the Army full time in 2006. He died in Afghanistan last year when an explosive device hit his vehicle. The 27-year-old sergeant left behind three children, his wife, sister, and of course his parents, Anna and Thomas Ware. They share their experience as part of WBEZ's series After the Wars.
