Time is running out to rescue and repair the planet, climate scientists keep telling us. They say that soon fresh water will be a resource more precious than gold. They warn that no one will be untouched.

But is anyone really listening?

We say: It’s time to call in the artists!

After Water is a project of WBEZ, Chicago Public Media.  We’re inviting writers to peer into the future of the Great Lakes—100 years or more—and to imagine a world in which water scarcity is a dominant social issue.

Join us July 30 at Mayne Stage in Chicago for an evening of art and science around the future of water, hosted by WBEZ’s Lauren Chooljian and Vocalo’s Jesse Menendez!

Bring your tough questions, hear writers offer their sneek peeks into the future and then get experts’ answers.  Have your own predictions for the future? We’ll take those too.

We are currently SOLD OUT of available RSVPs for this event.  If there is room on Wednesday, we will do our best to accomodate walk up traffic.  Thanks!

After Water is part of WBEZ’s Front and Center Series.

Front and Center is supported by the Joyce Foundation: improving the quality of life in the Great Lakes region and across the country.
