India’s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has scheduled an all-party meeting for tomorrow. He hopes to forge a compromise on the proposed corruption agency, which is at the heart of veteran social activist Anna Hazare’s hunger strike.
The 74-year old Hazare has entered a second week of fasting. He wants to see the creation of a government watch dog agency that could investigate corruption charges against anyone in government. But the prime minster wants an agency that restricts investigations on some government ministers and judicial figures.
