April is Autism Awareness Month. One of the struggles many families deal with is simply finding help, where they live dictates their access to resources and treatment. Katrina and Darrick Brown live in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with their two sons Gibson and Brennen. Gibson was born nearly four months premature with life-threatening complications. He was in the hospital for 151 days after his birth. As part of the 2008 series Autism Chronicles, producers Dan Collison and Elizabeth Meister of Long Haul Productions captured Gibson’s story, as told by his mother.
