With the dramatic downturn in the housing market —and new state and federal legislation introduced to support families in crisis and boost the economy — local advocates and policymakers must re-assess the primary housing policy initiatives that they have relied upon for many years. Suburban workforce housing, the Chicago Housing Authority Plan for Transformation, employer-assisted housing, and competing for shrinking resources are among the topics and strategies to be explored during this dynamic panel discussion.
Presenters include: Lynn Ross, Director of Local and State Initiatives, National Housing Conference and Center for Housing Policy; Joe Williams, Co-Chairman, Granite Companies, LLC; Stacie Young, Interagency Council Director, Preservation Compact, DePaul University Department of Real Estate; David Pope, Village President, Oak Park; and Mindy Turbov, Moderator, President, Turbov Associates.

Recorded Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Federal Reserve Bank - Michael Moskow Auditorium.
