Oh - We Get Reviews!! A little known but completely unkept secret to tickets for our show is that for every taping, I release 40 half price tickets through Goldstar.‚  They sell incredibly fast and we are rated as a “Hot Seller” and have a “Roar” icon next to our page.‚  I guess that’s good. Another thing about the Goldstar tickets is that users can post reviews of the experience for other Goldstar users.‚  I thought it would be a service to post a few of them to peruse at your leisure…
We loved the live show! Being radio listeners, it was interesting watching how the show was recorded. The 3-person panel was hilarious, Karl Cassel was great, and Peter Sagal was excellent. We thought the live show was actually better than the edited radio version that played the following Saturday. An excellent place to take guests for a fun 2-hour laugh-fest! —‚  Steve This is a must-do for everyone who lives in Chicago, loves live comedy, and an easily accessible and enjoyable evening out. — Jack I’ve listened to the show for 8 years and recently started enjoying it via their weekly podcast rather than when it’s locally broadcast. If you think the broadcast version is great, you’ll love the live taping, outtakes and all. Peter Sagal is hilarious, and seeing Carl Kasell perform live is a privilege. After the taping, Peter Sagal, Carl Kasell, and the panelists mingle with the crowd answering questions, posing for photos, and signing autographs. I had a great time; if I lived in Chicago, this would become a weekly event. — Dorkydad
For balance (this is public radio after all) I searched through the 248 user reviews for some negative comments as well. The vast majority of the reviews were extremely, enthusiastically positive but there were a couple that found the experience less than worth the $11.00… OK.‚  Actually there was really only one that didn’t rate it highly and obviously was non-plussed by the star power and hilarity:
The theater was very cold. Most of the material I heard earlier that day on The View, so it wasn’t very original, and a bit lackluster. The remarks were not witty. I expected more — Barbara R.
Unfortunately for Barbara, she didn’t realize that that is exactly where we get our material - The View is known for it’s hysterical quizzes on the news and on any given day, you’re likely to see the writing staff with Peter taking notes from those great ladies of daytime talk.
