Before You Vote, Compare The Histories Of Chicago’s Mayoral Candidates

Chicago mayoral candidates Lori Lightfoot and Toni Preckwinkle have a lot in common. They both support an elected school board, eliminating lead pipes, and raising fees on ride-shares to support the CTA. They’ve also both been quiet on how exactly they’d solve the city’s budget crisis.

Despite all these policy similarities, the candidates have different backgrounds. Here’s a closer look at how they each got to the verge of becoming the city’s first African-American woman mayor.
