Republican State Sen. Bill Brady, R-Bloomington, thinks he knows why he lost his campaign to be Illinois Governor. Brady has kept a fairly low profile since he conceded the gubernatorial race to Democratic Governor Pat Quinn earlier this month. He lost by more than 19,000 votes.

When asked by a reporter what he would do differently if he could start his campaign over again, Brady answered, “Win.”

Brady went on to say he wasn’t well-known enough across the state.

“People of Illinois like to touch and feel their candidates and although they got a touch and a feel of what Bill Brady stands for, there’s a great deal of people who didn’t get to know and relied on, I think, some messages that weren’t indicative of what I stand for,” Brady said.

Brady said he couldn’t overcome the image Democrats projected of him: that he’s a career politician. He said he’s considering running for re-election to the state Senate.
