The reigning Stanley Cup champions are on the verge of being swept out of the NHL playoffs in the first round. Home rink advantage at the United Center wasn’t enough for the Chicago Blackhawks. They lost their third game in a row to the Vancouver Canucks, 3-2.

Blackhawks’ Coach Joel Quenneville said a turning point in the game happened when Vancouver’s Raffi Torres laid out Brent Seabrook and got away with a 2-minute interference call. Quenneville said the refs got the call wrong.

“Brutal. Major. Absolutely,” Quenneville said. “They missed it. Could’ve scored four goals on that play.”

Seabrook got up soon after the hit and said he’s undergone tests to check for a concussion. Coach Quenneville said, despite the call, the team is still disappointed with its performance.

“We’re in an awful spot right now and I don’t think you want to look any further than just trying to get something positive going in our direction,” he said.

Game four of the best-of-seven series is Tuesday night at the United Center.
