Rod Blagojevich’s sentencing hearing gets underway Tuesday. It came nearly six months after the ex-governor was convicted on 18 counts of corruption. Prosecutors asked U.S. District Judge James Zagel for 15 to 20 years in prison. But defense attorneys, who claimed their client was led astray by advisors, hope the judge will show leniency. Whatever the outcome, there was sure to be a lot of action at the Dirksen Federal Building over the next few days. WBEZ criminal justice and legal affairs reporter Robert Wildeboer talked to Eight Forty-Eight from the Dirksen Federal Building for an update on the action.
