Buehrle honored by U.S. House for perfect game. Too bad it never came out of committee

The U.S. House of Representatives is busy at work. The economy, health care, Afghanistan top the list of issues that need to be worked on. They've been so busy, they never called the following item to the floor. Our colleague Jeanne Power was searching for home owner/mortgage legislation and noticed this in the "pending file." 1. H.RES.703 : Congratulating Mark Buehrle of the Chicago White Sox on pitching a perfect game on July 23, 2009. Sponsor: Rep Foster, Bill [IL-14] (introduced 7/31/2009) Cosponsors (18) Committees: House Oversight and Government Reform Latest Major Action: 7/31/2009 Referred to House committee. Status: Referred to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. So good that they didn't waste time on this, but c'mon - they probably could have put this through in 15 minutes. I wonder if the North Siders in the U.S. House would have pushed it through if it were Cubbie blue...
