Bus driver who killed pedestrian charged with DUI, sexual assault

The driver of a tour bus that struck and killed a pedestrian on Tuesday has been charged with driving under the influence.  According to the Chicago Police Department, the accident occurred in the 500 block of North Columbus on Tuesday evening. The driver of the bus was David Soto, 47.

During the course of the traffic crash investigation it was discovered that Soto was also wanted in connection to an investigation of sex offenses involving children. Soto was charged in that unrelated case with 1 count of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child and one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse of a victim under 13.

Soto is set to appear in bond court Thursday.
