Rapper Kanye West’s infamous condemnation of President Bush is the flashpoint for a discussion on Hip-hop’s response to the Hurricane Katrina catastrophe and other issues of the day. Celebrated cultural critic Bakari Kitwana moderates this panel which includes, youth education advocate Omo Moses,  activist Albert Sykes, and Chicago State University’s very own Tacuma Roeback.  Recorded as part of the 16th Annual Gwendolyn Brooks Writers’ Conference for Black Literature and Creative Writing.
