Candidates For Illinois Comptroller Are Fighting Over Obligations To Party Leaders

Voters this November will choose who should be Illinois’ next comptroller and the candidates are in the middle of a fight over obligations to their party’s leaders. Incumbent Republican Leslie Munger says her opponent has used the Chicago Democratic machine to win political office. Susana Mendoza questioned Munger’s independence from Governor Bruce Rauner - who appointed Munger comptroller.
