The Institute proudly co-presents this Chicago program, Celebrating African Women Writers, in collaboration with the Department of Theatre and Center for African Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as part of their inaugural Writers from Africa & the Diaspora Festival in Urbana-Champaign.

This panel discussion features visiting poets, playwrights, activists, artists and cultural workers including: Hope Azeda (Rwanda); Amandina Lihamba (Tanzania); Mshai Mwangola (Kenya); Malika Lueen Ndlovu (South Africa); and Chantal Synman (South Africa). The program will be moderated by Cheryl Lynn Bruce, Institute Fellow and award-winning actor, director and writer.
