April is Jazz Appreciation Month. For those new to the music, jazz is one of those genres that can be a little intimidating. To offer a little guidance, Eight Forty-Eight turned to Richard Steele.
Steele is a long-time radio host here in Chicago and at WBEZ – he was one of the station’s jazz hosts for many years and he continues to work with Eight Forty-Eight. Host Alison Cuddy sat down with Steele and got his suggestions for April listening and beyond.
Steele said that if you’re just getting into jazz, Count Basie’s version of “April in Paris” is a great place to start.
