The challenger in Chicago’s 20th ward aldermanic race says he’s not conceding to the incumbent.

Che “Rhymefest” Smith is behind Ald. Willie Cochran by 316 votes.

But Smith, a Grammy-award winning hip-hop artist, said his poll watchers witnessed voter irregularities on election day.

“I know that I didn’t fit the profile of an alderman traditionally. We gonna keep fighting for your votes to be counted. Every one of these irregularities is going to be taken care of,” Smith said.

Smith’s camp alleged that in some precincts all of the votes weren’t counted and non-residents voted.

A spokesman for the board of elections says Smith has five days to request a recount.
