Chicago’s West Side has just been been awarded the inauspicious title of “most dangerous neighborhood” in the US. ABC News reports that‚  website NeighborhoodScout has gotten a hold of crime data from local and national agencies and tracked them to neighborhoods all over the country. The West Side neighborhood (specifically around West Lake Street) takes the cake, beating out Atlanta, Cleveland and Las Vegas. If social networking tool foursquare has anything to say about it, Rahm Emanuel may be facing some stiff competition in Chicago’s mayoral race. Mashable reports that digital marketing firm Proximity is giving one lucky Chicagoan the chance to running for mayor of Chicago with their Foursquarian Candidate contest. The person with the most check-ins to a designated Chicago locale will win a spot on the ballot, as well as free press and campaign materials. Chicago Federal Reserve Bank President Charles Evans is getting media attention for his views on the economy. Following up on a speech he gave at The Bank of France Conference last Friday, Evans told the Wall Street Journal that we should make more money in order to stimulate the economy. The New York Observer is predicting‚  Fed presidents will likely agree when they meet later this month.
