The Chicago International Children’s Film Festival is a unique, family-focused event, showcasing the best in culturally diverse, non-violent, value-affirming new cinema for children.  It is the largest festival of films for children in North America and features over 250 movies from 40 countries, from live-action and animated feature films to shorts, TV series, documentaries, and child-produced works.   The festival schedule is filled with presentations, workshops, and learning opportunities for all ages conducted by  filmmakers, media professionals, and celebrities such as Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey), Shia LeBeouf (Transformers and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), LeVar Burton (Reading Rainbow and Star Trek: The Next Generation), and many others.   Audiences are engaged with positive images and messages and presented with tools and exercises to critically think about media.

The festival schedule is available at the beginning of September.  Please check the website, www.cicff.org for complete listings.

Advance tickets for weekend screening can be purchased at the theater box offices 30 minutes prior to a screening or via the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival website (www.cicff.org) using ticketweb.
