When you flip a light switch in Illinois it’s a 50-50 situation. About half your electricity is thanks to nuclear plants. The other half is powered by coal. By the year 2025, though, that equation will change. By state mandate, at least 25 percent of Illinois’ energy will be derived from renewable sources. For a better understanding of what’s in the works for our green energy future we’re joined by Chicago Tribune’s Michael Hawthorne.
