Claypool Blames Springfield For Principal Exodus

Chicago Public Schools CEO Forrest Claypool is blaming Springfield politicians, including Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, in part for the recent exodus of principals from the district.

Claypool, along with Chief Education Officer Janice Jackson, say that the lack of funding from Springfield puts the district at risk for losing talent.

This year, 54 principals have either resigned or retired from Chicago Public Schools.
