Community Leaders Preach Peace And Protection
Community leaders from Chicago’s South and West Sides want people in those neighborhoods to call on each other if they need help after Chicago's’ Fraternal Order of Police suggested officers reject overtime during the upcoming Labor Day holiday.
Community leaders say they want everyone from activists to churches and the city of Chicago to help each other during this time. They’re also calling for people who have concealed carry licenses, even though they say they have no plans to do the work of the police.
CPD says it doesn’t expect any disruptions in operations.
