Congresswoman Judy Biggert Travels to Learn More about Afghan Women

For years, the war in Afghanistan took a back seat to the war in Iraq. Now, that's changing, as the Taliban insurgency grows and threatens to destabilize neighboring Pakistan. Just this week, President Barack Obama replaced the top American commander in Afghanistan with a general who had been in Iraq. Illinois Republican Congresswoman Judy Biggert just returned from a trip with an all-woman congressional delegation to Afghanistan. She says one thing the lawmakers wanted to investigate was how Afghan women are faring.
