Cook County Pushing To Make It Easier To Expunge Juvenile Records

Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle is pushing a state legislative proposal to make it simpler for people to put juvenile arrests behind them. At a press conference Monday in Chicago, Preckwinkle advocated for a bill that would create an automatic expungement process for many juvenile arrest records and streamline the application process for expungement in other cases. The bill would also strengthen confidentiality rules around juvenile arrest records.
