Chicago Police are commending a taxi driver who detained a robbery suspect early Wednesday morning.

That’s when cab driver Abdinasir Kahin says he saw two men beating another.

Detective Gary Yamashiroya says Kahin chased after and restrained one of the suspects until police arrived.

YAMASHIROYA:

Police say the crime early is not related to a recent spate of violent robberies in the Lincoln Park Neighborhood.

They say they’re still investigating those incidents, and have made no arrests.
