The exodus at Chicago Public Schools continues. Today is the last day for schools chief Ron Huberman’s chief of staff, Adam Case. In an e-mail sent to CPS employees, Case said he has accepted a job with the White House Office of Budget and Management.

“This is a tremendous opportunity and will also allow me to be closer to my family and loved ones,” wrote Case.

The move comes after reports earlier this month that Huberman will likely leave his post before the end of the school year. The school system also continues to operate without a second in command. The district’s chief education officer position has remained vacant since Barbara Eason-Watkins left earlier this year.

District spokeswoman Monique Bond said a “temporary replacement” has not be named yet.
