1. In case you didn’t get enough of them at the Oscars last night, Cirque du Soleil will be in Chicago with their show Dralion at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont and the United Center here. They’ll be at these big venues for seven nights and eight nights only, respectively.

2. Listen to John Lithgow on the Afternoon Shift today. He talks about his origins with acting, which he credits partially to the influence of his father, who produced theater in Ohio. He sings some Stravinsky also (he’s a part of the CSO’s A Soldier’s Tale right here in town tomorrow evening).

3. Sarah Vowell and Jon Langford bring Seasick: Tales and Songs of Ships and Islands to UP to promote Vowell’s latest book, Unfamilar Fishes. Fun fact: Vowell is the voice of Violet Parr in The Incredibles. “A copy of the book is included in the ticket price,” which is $20.

4. Mike Daisey — who recently joined Twitter — has benefitted hugely from the This American Life episode that aired an abridged section of his piece The Agony and The Ecstasy of Steve Jobs, now being performed at the Public Theater in New York. Eager to get the word out about his controversial take on how Apple products are produced, Daisey put the full text online for anyone to perform. A Red Orchid has snatched it up locally, with Lance Baker (currently in Invisible Man) to perform a one-night only benefit performance for the theater next Monday.
