Daniel Knox discusses Chicago's hotel ballrooms and their role in his musical career

With music that could've easily come out of any 1920's silent film, Chicago's singer / songwriter Daniel Knox creates a truly unique and haunting listening experience. Having started his musical career with excursions to various hotel ballrooms to teach himself how to play piano, Daniel has built an enthusiastic and devoted following (just read the comments in his iTunes store!).

His latest release is Evryman For Himself. Daniel joins Jesse Menendez on Vocalo's MusicVox to talk about his strange musical beginnings in Chicago's hotels, his admiration for 1920 / 30's era music, and some of the themes that run through his music.
