David Remnick

Elizabeth Taylor, literary editor for the Chicago Tribune, leads a conversation with David Remnick, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and editor of The New Yorker. Remnick discusses and signs his new book The Bridge: The Life and Rise of Barack Obama.

Through extensive on-the-record interviews with friends and teachers, mentors and disparagers, family members and Obama himself, Remnick offers the most complete account of Obama's personal struggles and how he found the community, home and ambition to propel himself into the political spotlight.

Recorded Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Harold Washington Library Center.
