Detective's Resignation Not Connected To Pension
An embattled Chicago police detective is resigning just before a city hearing on whether to fire him. But, contrary to speculation, Det. Dante Servin’s decision had nothing to do with his pension. Advocates for police accountability, meanwhile, say his resignation adds weight to their push for the city to create a police auditor’s office. Servin shot and killed a 22-year-old named Rekia Boyd in 2012.
