Documentary Explores the Underground Rock Poster World

Rock posters advertising new albums and local rock shows might make their homes on the walls of fans, record stores and coffee shops but the artists who create them constitute a subculture of the music and art communities. That community is the focus of Canadian filmmaker Eileen Yaghoobian's  latest work, Died Young, Stayed Pretty. She trekked across North America, sometimes sleeping on artists' floors to capture the inspiration behind poster art. Yaghoobian explored Chicago's scene and tapped local musician Mark Greenberg, who has performed with bands like the Coctails and 11th Dream Day, to compose the film's eerie score.
