In one of the more memorable film moments set in Chicago, Ferris Bueller and friends visit the Art Institute during their day off. One painting really grabs the eye of Bueller’s best friend Cameron. That painting has attracted many an art patron. A Sunday on La Grande Jatte is one of the gems of the Art Institute’s collection. But it’s also the star and inspiration for Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George, which is currently on at Porchlight Music Theatre.  Dueling critics Jonathan Abarbanel and Kelly Kleiman give their review.
