Debates earlier this week around the extension of the Bush-era tax cuts has some crying class warfare. Though Oscar Wilde never called for anything like armed conflict, his mockery of the upper crust in Victorian England was revolutionary in its own way.

Paul Hurley plays Jack Worthing and Greg Matthew Anderson is Algernon Moncrieff in Remy Bumppo Theatre’s production of Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest.”

“Eight Forty-Eight” invited its Dueling Critics in to talk about this Wilde comedy.  Regular theater contributors Jonathan Abarbanel and Kelly Kleinman reviewed the production which runs at Remy Bumppo Theatre through Jan. 9.
