The Olympics continue in Beijing, only this time it’s the Paralympic Games. At least 19 members of the U.S. team have ties to Illinois. One of them is track and field competitor Tony Iniguez. In his day job, Iniguez teaches art at East Aurora High School.

Sheila Conrad is the principal there.

CONRAD: I didn’t realize that he was training for the Paralympics until he came in and shared with me that he made the team. He was just very excited and we were all greatly excited for him as well because this is quite an accomplishment.

According to the U.S. Olympic Committee, this is the fourth trip to the Paralympics for Iniguez.
