A portrait of Mary Todd Lincoln hung in the governor’s mansion in Springfield for 30 years before art conservator Barry Bauman discovered it was a fraud. Friday on Eight Forty-Eight, we learn how experts recognize a rip-off when we sit down with FBI Special Agent Luigi Mondini from the Art Crimes Unit and Francesca Casadio, a senior conservation scientist at the Art Institute of Chicago. 

Then, WBEZ’s theater critics Kelly Kleiman and Jonathan Abarbanel join us once more to take on A Red Orchid Theatre’s The Butcher of Baraboo; they’ll also discuss global theater with the International Voices Project’s Patrizia Acerra.

Finally, WBEZ sports contributor Cheryl Raye-Stout will preview the 2012 Bulls playoff run.
