Long time contributer to This American Life, David Rakoff, passed away from cancer Thursday. On Friday’s Eight Forty-Eight, we remember his sense of humor and beautiful prose. Charlie Meyerson, Chicago radio vet, and Tracy Balm, executive editor of the Windy City Media Group, give the week in review. Then, we talk with Worldview film contributor Milos Stehlik and theater owner Tim O’Connor about the movie theater push towards digital film, which could have a deleterious effect on some small, independent film houses. And Chicago country chanteuse Angela James and her band perform live throughout the hour.
