As election day draws near, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is making one more pitch for his former boss.

Emanuel has been stumping for President Barack Obama in swing states like Ohio and Florida, but Monday morning the mayor spoke again to the local press corps.

Emanuel said Obama’s quick action during superstorm Sandy is an example of the president’s leadership skills.

“Another crisis, another challenge, another conflict is going to emerge,” he said. “Whose judgement, whose character, do you want in the oval office when that decision lands on that desk.”

Emanuel said he’ll continue his efforts Monday afternoon with television interviews for stations in targeted states.

President Obama will be at McCormick Place in Chicago for election night tomorrow.
