Questions about possible illicit medical treatment at unlicensed programs in Chicago have experts calling for clearer regulation of addiction services in Illinois. Several people connected with some of these residential programs in Chicago have told WBEZ that methadone or Suboxone were sometimes used to help people detox. 

Kathy Kane-Willis of the Illinois Consortium on Drug Policy at Roosevelt University says this suggests that policymakers need to make clearer rules and regulations about treatment services and sober living houses.
