Former Knesset member discusses Egypt uprising and hopes for Middle East peace

Dennis Ross, special assistant to President Obama on Middle East issues, said Monday, “If Israel can view one lesson from the events in Egypt, it is the danger of getting stuck with an unsustainable status quo.” As unrest spreads in the Middle East, the shifting power dynamics have many speculating how it will impact the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Here to discuss what this might mean for Israel is Michael Melchior, a Danish-Norwegian rabbi and an Israeli politician who’s served several terms in the Knesset. An active advocate of interfaith dialogue, Rabbi Melchior thinks religion could be part of the solution.
