Desiree Rogers, the former White House Social Secretary who resigned from her position after uninvited guests snuck into a White House state dinner, has been named a member of the committee organizing Chicago’s 2011 inauguration.

Rogers is one of seven co-chairs to the inauguration committee that will plan the event for Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel, Treasurer Stephanie Neely and City Clerk-elect Susana Mendoza.

Rogers served under President Barack Obama along with Emanuel, who was White House chief of staff. She is currently the CEO of Johnson Publishing Company in Chicago, which publishes EBONY and JET magazines.

Also serving on the Inauguration Committee are Melinda Kelly, Eric Lefkofsky, Antonio Gracias, David Herro, John T. Coli and Tim Mullen.
