From a local harvest dinner to a a five-course menu highlighting Wisconsin cheeses, next week is all about celebrating the pleasures of the table.

All-Star Cheesemaker’s Dinner at Marion Street Cheese Market Meet and mingle with some of Wisconsin’s best artisan cheesemakers on Tuesday, October 19 at 6 p.m. as part of Marion Street Cheese Market’s special dinner and reception. Executive Chef Leonard Hollander will prepare a five-course dinner showcasing the cheese crafted by the night’s artisan cheesemakers, who include Brenda Jensen of Hidden Springs Creamery, Chris Roelli of Roelli Cheese, Andy Hatch of Uplands Cheese and Jeanne Carpenter of Wisconsin Cheese Originals. Since the dinner is limited to 50 people, making a reservation by calling 708-725-7200 or online at www.marionstreetcheesemarket.com is highly recommended. The $50 ticket includes the meal and a flight of wine or beer, and Marion Street Cheese Market is located at 100 S. Marion Street in Oak Park.

“A Taste of Fooditude” First‚  Anniversary Party Fooditude, a reality-based multimedia program that aims to encourage healthy eating in tweens, is celebrating its first anniversary on Thursday, October 21 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Architectural Artifacts on 4325 N. Ravenswood Avenue. Childhood-inspired food prepared by Apart Pizza, Paddy Pan Catering, Yum Universe, Bleeding Heart Bakery and others will be served alongside beverages from Honest Tea for kids and Arcadia Ales for adults. In addition to the presentation of Fooditude webisodes, entertainment will include live music from The Burgundy Room and Marley Dzis, a children’s play area and a silent auction. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.tasteoffooditude2.eventbrite.com, and the special $100 family ticket pack includes admission for two adults and two children. Individual adult tickets are $50 and child tickets are $25 each.

5th Annual Harvest Dinner in Logan Square On Monday, October 25th, join the Logan Square Chamber of Commerce for its 5th Annual Harvest Dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Logan Square Auditorium, 2539 N. Kedzie Boulevard. The dinner will feature foods from local restaurants such as Lula Cafe, Treat, Revolution Brewing, Urban Belly and more. In addition, there will be a silent auction that of predominantly culinary items from Provenance, Fino Products (Croation Olive Oils), Green Grocer, Uncommon Ground, JDY Meats and more. Advance tickets (sales end October 17) are $40 and can be purchased at the Logan Square Farmer’s Market or by calling (773) 489-3222, and tickets are $50 at the door.
