As you surely noticed, the City Desk updates on this blog have been MIA for the last week and a half. I can only assume the fan-base was so jarred by this unexplained absence that you were left bed-ridden, unable to write comments begging for our return. Fear not, loyal readers, I’m heeding the silent majority’s call to come back better than ever (or at least equally as good.) That, and my vacation is over. So here’s a look at some of the stories our news team is working on today. Tune in later on this afternoon, or check out the website for more on these stories.
  • The FAA and Mayor Daley are making a “major announcement” on the future of O’Hare airport. The FAA’s spokeswoman refused to give me further details. We’ll see if the actual announcement is worthy of the hype, or if the press conference if delayed 3 hours due to light rain. Zingggg.
  • Father Michael Pfleger is expected backat St. Sabina today. The Archdiocese of Chicago gave him a timeout after some controversial comments he made about Hillary Clinton. Has he learned his lesson?
  • We’ll keep you updated on the power outages across the region. Then again, if you’re reading the internet, your power is probably up and running pretty nicely.
  • Got a short baby? No worries. This heelarious product comes to the rescue. OK, we’re not covering this one, but I had to throw a link in here.
OK, time to check out the company health plan and see if this is covered. If so, a certain producer might have to pay a visit to Dr. Huggie Bear. As always, leave a comment or shoot a line to news@chicagopublicradio.org if there’s something you think we’re missing.
